Im going to look at film festivals I can submit to next year, however the problem is most film festivals have already had their deadline.

This film festival looks interesting, the deadline is Sunday the 18th of December. I’m hoping to rerecord my sound for my film before then meaning I may have a chance to enter this festival. Screen-test is the UK’s number one film festival for students. It was founded in 2004 in Bristol but located to London in 2012. This year it is in Glasgow. The festival is run in spring oIf 2017 and will run over 100 student films with special guests such as BAFTA and BFI. Screen Shot 2016-12-13 at 10.07.25.png

The British Independent Film Festival is a festival run by independent filmmakers for independent filmmakers. BIFF 2017 will be hosted at the Empire Cinema, in Leicester Square. the categories for the films that are to be entered are as follows:

  • Feature Film
  • Short Film
  • Student Film
  • Music Video
  • Documentary
  • Unproduced ScreenplayThe awards BIFF have to offer are:
  • Best Feature Film
  • Best Short Film
  • Best Cinematography
  • Best Music
  • Best Director
  • Best Actor
  • Best Actress
  • Best Supporting Actor
  • Best Supporting Actress
  • Best Student Film
  • Best Music Video
  • British Lion Award (Best achievement on a low budget)

This film festival is an option to enter my film in to, however I don’t feel like I’m at a good enough level to win an award but it would still be good to enter it in to the documentary category.

The Winners from 2015

The UK Film Festival aims to show great films but in particular is seek work from those filmmakers who haven’t had the chance to show the public. The screening is  in the heart of London, where they celebrate the cultural diversity of films made in the UK and all over the World. UKFF has made it a tradition of promoting films that later have gone onto to be Oscar nominees and winners. This film festival looks good to enter in to the student film.
